Through her experiences, Kristyn navigated the social aspects of veganism with grace, chose to raise her children vegan, and learned valuable lessons. She now shares her wisdom and support with others, especially parents looking to introduce their families to a vegan lifestyle, making the journey enjoyable and enriching.
Luisa Anderson
Luisa’s journey from a life filled with societal expectations and personal emptiness to one of deep understanding and spiritual awakening is nothing short of transformative. After facing a personal and spiritual crisis, Luisa embarked on a path of self-healing, realizing her pain was not a burden but a bridge to her true purpose. With a gift for understanding and empathy, honed through her own experiences of trauma and a lack of self-love, Luisa now empowers others to embrace their authentic selves, offering tools and guidance for healing, self-discovery, and fulfilling one’s soul’s purpose. Her digital haven is a testament to the power of healing and the courage to pursue one’s calling.

Our Life-Changing Moments
Both Luisa and I were at pivotal crossroads in our lives. We had both recently experienced major life changes that forced us to stop and reflect. For me, it was a period of reassessing everything I thought I knew about career, family, and what it meant to truly live a fulfilling life. For Luisa, a shift in her personal and professional journey led her to embrace her passion for coaching and healing. We were both at a point where we wanted to make a positive change—not just for ourselves, but for the world around us.
We each made a bold decision to create online courses, thinking we could use our experiences to help others. Little did we know, our paths were about to cross in the most serendipitous way.
The Serendipitous Meeting
It was in an online course about creating online courses where we first met. Yes, ironically, we connected while learning how to create courses ourselves! From the moment we clicked, we began to share our personal stories, and something incredible happened. We realized that our passions aligned perfectly, even though we had different backgrounds. I was focused on helping families explore a vegan lifestyle, while Luisa was working in the world of chakra realignment and energy healing.
In that moment, we both knew there was more to our connection than just creating a course. Our shared vision for helping others—along with the synergy between our areas of expertise—was undeniable.
The Birth of Flying Upstream
Our first project together was something we thought would be short-lived. I was a guest on Luisa's first podcast, Silky Tales, where I shared how my expertise in veganism overlapped with Luisa’s work in rebalancing chakras. It was an unexpected and powerful conversation, and from that moment, we both knew we were meant to do more.
We didn’t just want to share our stories—we wanted to shout them from the rooftops. Despite everything life had thrown at us, we had come out the other side stronger, and we knew we had something valuable to offer the world. And so, Flying Upstream was born.
Our first episode was released on May 6, 2024, and the rest, as they say, is history. Our podcast has since become a platform for celebrating unconventional paths and empowering others to live authentically, no matter what challenges they face.
